Here's what's been happening.
Updated the Membicus logo and wordmark across the entire platform, marketing site, emails, and PWA icons for a cleaner, more polished brand identity.
Added Cloudflare Turnstile CAPTCHA to all signup forms, rate limiting on checkout APIs, and businesses are now hidden from the directory until payment is confirmed. Graceful handling when an organization hasn't connected Stripe yet.
Members joining a calendar-year organization now see the prorated breakdown directly on the signup review step — showing the annual rate, current quarter, proration percentage, amount due today, and next renewal date.
Organizations can now choose between rolling anniversary billing (default) and calendar-year billing with quarterly proration. In calendar-year mode, new members pay a prorated amount based on when they join (Q1 = 100%, Q2 = 75%, Q3 = 50%, Q4 = 25%) and all memberships renew together on a fixed date.
Expired trials are now automatically detected and enforced. A daily scheduled job flips stale trials to expired, middleware blocks access to the admin portal, and a dedicated upgrade page guides organizations to subscribe. Account dashboard alerts show trial status clearly.
Stripe Connect management has moved from the Account portal to Admin > Settings > Payments, where it belongs. Role-aware prompts show super admins a "Connect Stripe" button while regular admins see a message to contact their super admin.
Add custom fields to your signup form — text inputs, dropdowns, checkboxes, and text areas. Responses are saved to each member's profile and visible on their admin detail page. You can also enable a terms and conditions checkbox with custom text and an optional link.
The embeddable events calendar now features interactive hover popovers showing event details, time, location, and a direct link. Added a configurable font size setting in the admin panel. Tooltips use CSS-only rendering for better performance on embedded sites.
Smart renewal detection automatically determines whether a member has auto-renewal via Stripe or needs to renew manually. Auto-renewal members see a "Manage Billing" button; manual members see a "Renew Now" button. Renewal reminder emails adapt their messaging accordingly. Admins can also trigger manual renewals from the member detail page.
Admins can now see when each member last logged in. The "Last Active" column appears on the members list, the member detail page, and the dashboard's recent members section. Last login is also included in CSV exports.
When members install the portal as an app on their phone, they now see the organization's logo icon instead of the default Membicus icon. Icons are generated dynamically per organization, including maskable variants for Android.
Non-members can now purchase event tickets through a lightweight signup flow without becoming a full member. They get a scoped dashboard with access to events and their profile only, plus a "Become a Member" banner encouraging conversion. Prospect counts appear in admin reports.
Admins can now toggle event registration on or off and set a "Registration Opens" date. When registration hasn't opened yet, the public event page shows a "Registration opens [date]" pill and the register button is replaced with a "Coming Soon" state.
Build and send polished multi-section newsletters with a visual editor. Choose from 8 section types including hero banners, articles with images, auto-populated upcoming events, member business spotlights, sponsor logos, call-to-action buttons, and more. Live preview updates as you compose so you see exactly what members will receive.
Organization admins now receive an email notification whenever a new member joins, whether through online signup, manual creation, or import. The notification includes the member's name, email, business, and plan, with a direct link to their admin profile. Can be toggled off in Settings.
Completely refreshed the Help Center with 60 articles across 10 categories, more than double the previous coverage. New categories for Newsletters, Donations, Embeds, and Reports & Analytics. Every major feature now has step-by-step guidance.
Generate professional board-ready PDF reports with one click from the Reports page. The 5-page report includes a branded cover page, membership summary with growth metrics, revenue breakdown, event attendance highlights, and directory statistics. Perfect for board meetings and stakeholder updates.
Admins can now enable two-factor authentication for added account security. Set up with any TOTP authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) and save backup codes for recovery. Super admins can enforce 2FA for all admin users organization-wide.
Full control over your automated email templates. Customize the header background color, text color, footer text, button labels, and headings for welcome emails, renewal reminders, event confirmations, and more. Live preview and one-click test email to yourself.
Accept one-time and recurring donations with a public donation page on your subdomain. Create fundraising campaigns with goal tracking, customize suggested amounts, and automatically send tax receipts with your organization's EIN. All donations go directly to your Stripe account.
Embed your business directory, upcoming events, announcements feed, or full member signup form directly on your existing website. Works with WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and any platform that supports custom HTML. Each widget is customizable with theme, colors, and layout options.
Complete white-label branding for your member portal. Upload multiple logo formats (icon, full, dark background), set your color palette (primary, secondary, accent), choose heading and body fonts, style your sidebar (light, dark, or branded), and even add custom CSS. Every change applies instantly across your portal, emails, login page, and public pages.
Member payments now go directly to your organization's bank account via Stripe Connect. No platform transaction fees and no waiting for payouts. Membicus never holds your funds. Connect your Stripe account in minutes from the Account page.
Every active member gets a digital membership card accessible from their dashboard. Displays their name, member number, organization, membership tier, and expiration date with a QR code for instant verification. Members can save it to their phone or print it.
Revamped CSV import with automatic column mapping, duplicate detection, email validation, and a preview step before committing. Import up to 1,000 members at a time with detailed error reporting for any rows that need attention.
Send rich announcements to your members via email with optional banner images, PDF attachments, and audience targeting. Pin important announcements to the top of the member feed. Announcements respect each member's email notification preferences.
Events that reach capacity now automatically place additional RSVPs on a waitlist. When someone cancels, the next person is auto-promoted and notified by email. Added QR code check-in for tracking actual attendance at events.
Create additional recurring fees and assign them to specific member groups using tags. Perfect for committee dues, marketing fund contributions, or any supplemental charges. Billed separately through Stripe on your chosen schedule.
Membicus now automatically sends branded email reminders to members at 30, 14, and 7 days before their membership expires, plus a final expiration notice. Customize the reminder intervals and email content in Settings. Reminders respect each member's notification preferences.
A searchable, filterable public directory showcasing your member businesses. Each business gets a profile with logo, description, contact info, and categories. Featured businesses appear at the top. Listings auto-hide when membership expires and reappear on renewal.
Full event management with RSVP tracking, capacity limits, member vs. non-member pricing, guest registration, location details, and automated confirmation emails. Members can view and manage their RSVPs from their dashboard.
Membicus launches with core member management: member registration, profile management, membership plans with tiered pricing, rolling memberships, status tracking, and a fully white-labeled member portal on your own subdomain.
