Business Directory

The business directory is one of the most valuable benefits you can offer members. It provides a public, searchable listing of all active member businesses.

The directory is accessible at yourchamber.membicus.com/directory and can also be embedded on your existing website. It features:

• Full-text search by name, description, and category
• Filter by business category
• Individual business profile pages
• Contact information and website links
• Map integration for physical locations

Members manage their own directory listing through the member dashboard. They can update:

• Business name and description
• Logo and cover photo
• Contact details (phone, email, website)
• Physical address
• Business hours
• Social media links

Admins can edit any listing from the admin panel and can also feature or hide specific listings.

Set up business categories to help visitors find what they're looking for. Go to Admin → Categories to manage your category list.

Best practices for categories:

• Keep the top level broad (10–20 categories works well)
• Use consistent naming conventions
• Allow members to select multiple categories
• Review and consolidate periodically

Boost member visibility by featuring their listing at the top of the directory. Featured listings get:

• Priority placement in search results
• A "Featured" badge on their listing
• Larger display card with logo

You can offer featured listings as a premium perk for higher-tier plans or sell them as add-on sponsorships.

When a member's status changes to Expired or Cancelled, their directory listing is automatically hidden from public view. This ensures your directory only shows current, active members.

If a member renews after expiration, their listing is automatically restored with all their previous information intact.
